How do I change the password for my email account?

The password for an email account can be reset by the account administrator or by the email account user.

By Administrator:

  • Login to the control panel (https://cp.irishdomains.com) using your administrator username & password.
  • Select "Mail" from top menu  (if this option is not displayed, select your hosting subscription from the subscription drop down box at the top of the page first)
  • Select the email address you wish to amend
  • Click on "Change Password" button
  • Enter the new password and Confirm (Do not select "Generate new Password" unless you wish the system to generate a random password for you)
  • Submit

By email user:

If you know your existing password, then you can simply log on to your user account and update your password.

  • Login to the control panel (https://cp.irishdomains.com) using your email address & password.
  • Select "Login" on main page
  • Click on "Change Password" button
  • Enter the new password and Confirm (Do not select "Generate new Password" unless you wish the system to generate a random password for you)
  • Submit

If you do not know your current password, then it can only be reset by the administrator as described above.

Password changes may take some time to process on our legacy system - while pending, the mailbox will appear as "In Sync: No" until the change has taken effect. Once the mailbox appears again as "In Sync: Yes", the new password should be in effect.
