Billing System Changes

There are a number of changes in how our newer billing system operates, compared against the older Odin system.

UK Companies

As we are VAT registered with UK Revenue and Customs, UK VAT at the appropriate rate will be charged to all customers with a UK address whether they are VAT registered or not.
UK VAT registered customers can offset VAT charged on our invoices in the normal way.
If you are **exempt** from UK VAT and require that VAT is not to be applied, please send us the appropriate exemption form from HM Revenue & Customs (via ticket system on your account).

Domain Renewals

As on the existing system, domains may be set to auto-renew (default) or to expire naturally (with warnings so that you can renew manually).

Unless noted otherwise for certain domains, the general renewal procedure for domain names is as follows:

  • At any stage before renewal invoice is generated, you may log in and disable auto-renewal for your domain.
  • A reminder of upcoming renewal will be sent 30 days before the domain expiry date
  • A pro-forma renewal invoice will issue 14 days before expiry.
  • If you have a valid credit card on the account, payment will by attempted 7 days before expiry.
  • At any time you may also log in and pay the renewal invoice manually - overdue reminders will be sent periodically.
  • Domains are renewed only after the invoice has been marked paid.

Service Renewals

Services such as Web Hosting, Email etc. are always set to renew automatically. Services can be cancelled via your account - you can decide if you want to cancel immediately or on at the end of the current paid term.

Unless noted otherwise for certain services, the general renewal procedure for services is as follows:

  • At any time before the renewal invoice is generated, you can log in and cancel a service
  • A pro-forma renewal invoice will issue 14 days before expiry.
  • If you have a valid credit card on the account, payment will by attempted 7 days before expiry.
  • At any time you may also log in and pay the renewal invoice manually - overdue reminders will be sent periodically
  • Services are renewed only after the invoice has been marked paid.

Failed Payments

Your invoice(s) will show the expected payment method and we will let you know if an attempt to charge your card fails. If you do not have a card on the account, you can log in and pay it (using the link supplied on the email  or your usual login method)  or add a new card as needed etc.

Expired Domains

Our system will allow you to attempt renew an expired domain up to 30 days after expiry. There is no guarantee that this will succeed for all domains, and for some top-level domains additional late fees may apply. After 30 days most domain names will enter a Redemption Period - in this case late renewal may still be possible for some domains, however a Redemption Fee may apply (this is levied by the sponsoring Registry/Registrar and in some cases can be significant).
